Volksgarten parkrun #41

Volksgarten parkrun
Event number 41
1st February 2020

This week 18 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 7 were first timers. Representatives of 6 different clubs took part.  There were visitors from Leeds, Manchester and Maastricht.

It was the first time since Volksgarten parkrun was launched in May 2019 that we had serious rain on a Saturday morning - The rain was heavy all morning, meaning the course was already quite wet and full of puddles at 8 AM when we we set up the course.

"action shot" of rain and puddles

It rained during the event, and the puddles got worse.  It was not a day for personal bests at all - there were in fact 0 of them.

In an attempt to make the event as short as possible - The tailwalker and one of the event directors started to clear the course during their second lap. It was still raining.  Should say that despite "the weather" a good time was had by all.
