Volksgarten parkrun #12, 20 July 2019
This week was another warm and sunny morning with 19 people running, jogging and walking the leafy Volksgarten parkrun course. 8 participants were first timers, 3 recorded new best times, and representatives of 7 different clubs took part. The local parkrunners enjoyed the company of visitors from Hampshire, Derby and Eindhoven - Stuart FISHER again making the incredible 250km roundtrip by bicycle from the Dutch city.
The event was made possible by 7 volunteers, including:
Rebecca ROES (pre-event setup, lead bike and results processing) • Peter KELLY (barcode scanning) • Peter RUTHERFORD (tailwalking, run report and post-event closedown) • Thomas DILLGE (finish tokens) • Nora WILL (run director) • Uwe ZIMMERMANN (pre-event setup and post-event closedown)
As always, thank you to you all our volunteers. The event wouldn’t be possible without you. If you want to get involved in future events, then the details can be found at http://www.parkrun.com.de/volksgarten/futureroster/. There are many different roles to choose from, with training and support provided by our two event directors, Nora WILL and Rebecca ROES, and other experienced volunteers. For those who like to run, it is also possible to run and volunteer on the same day (e.g. pre-event setup).
Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Volksgarten parkrun Results Page.
For those of you already looking forward to our next event, this upcoming Saturday promises to be another fun and social parkrun with many of our regulars returning, a large touring group from Chipping Sodbury parkrun expected, and the return of our course and age grade record holder, Hannah OLDROYD, who will be running and volunteering.
Volksgarten parkrun started on 4th May 2019. Since then 122 participants have completed 223 parkruns covering a total distance of 1,115 km, including 36 new Personal Bests. More than 28 individuals have volunteered.
